Anelka has USA dream

Nicolas Anelka may follow former international teammate Thierry Henry to Major League Soccer when his Chelsea contract expires.

Anelka, 31, joined Chelsea in January 2008, helping the club to the English Premier League title in 2009/10 and also winning the FA Cup twice.

His contract is to expire at the end of the 2011/12 season.

The Frenchman s European Championship-winning colleague Henry moved to MLS franchise New York Red Bulls in July after a three-year spell with Barcelona.

According to Anelka s brother and agent Claude, the former Paris-Saint Germain and Real Madrid may be set to follow suit.

Pogba must improve mentality to become like Platini and Zidane – Mauro

Paul Pogba needs to improve his mentality in order to become a true world-class player like Michel Platini or Zinedine Zidane, according to former Juventus midfielder Massimo Mauro.

The France international has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world since joining Juve from Manchester United in 2012.

Pogba has won three Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia and helped Juve reach the final of the Champions League last season during his time in Turin.

He was also named as the Best Young Player at the 2014 World Cup and selected for the FIFA FIFPro World XI in 2015.

Spurs in Badelj talks

Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach to sign Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj,.

The twenty-six year old was watched by Spurs officials as the North London side drew 1-1 with the Serie A outfit in the first leg of their Europa League round of thirty-two tie last week, and now could be set for a switch to White Hart Lane.

Badelj moved to Florence in from Hamburg in the summer of 2014 and has so far racked up sixty-one appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.

Internationally, he has been capped seventeen times for his country, netting his only goal for them so far in a 3-1 win over Malta in qualification for the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

No bids for Mahrez, says Leicester boss Shakespeare

Craig Shakespeare has reiterated Leicester City have yet to receive an offer for Riyad Mahrez despite the Algeria international being heavily linked with Arsenal and Roma.

The future of Mahrez has been uncertain since Leicester dramatically won the Premier League title in 2015-16, the 26-year-old opting to stay last season to be part of their Champions League campaign.

After the Foxes finished 12th in 2016-17 the forward confirmed his intention to leave the King Power Stadium by releasing a statement in May, but he remains a Leicester player.

Barcelona rule out Real Madrid move for Neymar

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has ruled out suggestions that Neymar could join arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Neymar signed a five-year contract having made the switch to Camp Nou from Santos in 2013, but talks over a new deal have dragged on for a number of months.
